Urge Congress to help schools fight human trafficking
Children account for more than half of all trafficking victims in America. Traffickers target children between the ages of 11-15. Young people need information now on how to spot the warning signs, how to stand up to predators, how to protect themselves and seek help.
It's time to take action.
The Human Trafficking and Exploitation Prevention Training Act will provide our schools with the resources to identify and provide critical services to at-risk youth, and educate all of us, children, and adults, on key warning signs so that we are equipped to prevent our abuse.

Dear Congress,
I am writing to urge you to co-sponsor the H.R. 623 Human Trafficking and Exploitation Prevention Training Act that would provide training for students, teachers, and other school personnel on the warning signs of human trafficking.
Traffickers have silenced the voice of countless children in our own backyard. Our education system is one of our greatest strengths, and we must take advantage by providing our schools with the resources to support children who might otherwise fall victim to trafficking.
Human trafficking has often left educators feeling helpless to protect students because the school systems throughout the US are not equipped to prevent sex trafficking and exploitation. But schools can be at the center of our strategy to protect young people from human trafficking.
Curricula for K-12th grade students needs to be available so that every child knows the power of their voice and how to stay safe. In addition to identifying and providing critical services to at-risk youth, they will play a crucial role in educating all of us, children, and adults, on key warning signs so we are equipped to prevent abductions and abuse.
I urge you to cosponsor the H.R.623 - Human Trafficking and Exploitation Prevention Training Act in the 118th Congress (2023-2024) to protect America’s most vulnerable youth, helping prevent trafficking and assist trafficking victims.
